NTI RETURNS TO SUPPORT THE RACE TORQUE IN 2020
THE RACE TORQUE is proud to announce that National Transport Insurance, via key brands Truck Assist and Yellow Cover, will support our website, podcast and social media channels throughout the remainder of the 2020 season.
WORDS: Richard Craill, The Race Torque Editor
NTI is Australia’s leading specialist in transport and logistics insurance, offering specialist products designed to protect Australian businesses and families.
A major supporter of Australian motorsport, NTI brands appear on multiple cars competing in the 2020 Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, including the Truck Assist Tickford Racing Ford Mustang driven by Lee Holdsworth.
Truck Assist also support Jack Le Brocq’s Supercheap Auto Racing entry and both Walkinshaw Andretti United entries, as well as being the title sponsor of the Truck Assist Winton Super400 event.
Yellow Cover made their Supercars debut at the Adelaide 500 this year as the primary sponsor of the Matt Stone Racing Commodore driven by Garry Jacobson.
As well as Truck Assist branding appearing across TRT’s web and social platforms, Yellow Cover will also take presenting sponsorship of The Race Torque’s Power Rankings – the most-read regular feature on the website.
The Power Rankings will continue throughout the Supercars eSeries competition with the regular blend of honest analysis and ‘hot or not’ rankings after each event.
Additionally, The Race Torque will host a weekly live show detailing the exploits of NTI-backed drivers competing in the BP Supercars All Stars Eseries, with a range of special guests to join the program across the duration of the series.
‘NTI Inside the eSeries’ launched two weeks ago and is available via the TRT and Truck Assist Facebook pages, and YouTube.
“We’re pleased to return to support The Race Torque and On the Grid in 2020,” said NTI’s Cris Gillespie.
“We enjoy their unique take on motorsport and the blend of in-depth features, fun content, interesting interviews and imagery that no one else offers.
“NTI is committed to motorsport in Australia and with our brands Truck Assist, Yellow Cover and Marine Protect, we are looking forward to telling more of their stories via The Race Torque and On the Grid this year.
A new web show, ‘NTI Inside the eSeries’ will air on The Race Torque and Truck Assist Facebook pages on Thursday evenings – following each round of the BP Supercars All Stars eSeries.
“Behind the eSeries will give Supercars fans an insight into how our drivers are preparing for the racing and what occurred each week – I think there will be some pretty interesting stories to come out of each round and there should be some good banter, too!
“It’s going to be fantastic competition and our NTI-supported drivers will be having a big go to get to the front!”
The Race Torque and associated podcast On the Grid experienced rapid growth across 2019, with further growth experienced across the first quarter of 2020.
2019 saw a 71% increase in total traffic to the website compared to 2018, while the first quarter of 2020 has already seen a 101% increase on the same period compared to 2019.
An association with Radio Show Limited – the home of Radio LeMans – has seen a vastly increased reach for the On the Grid podcast, with the total number of downloads in 2019 eclipsed in the first quarter of 2020 alone.
TRT social media channels showed an on average increase of more than 250% in 2019, with a total reach of more than 1.5 million people.
The Race Torque and On the Grid are produced by experienced Australian motorsport professionals with more than 100 years of combined experience in the sport and media.
Launched in early 2017, The Race Torque’s stated aim is to provide content – in depth analysis, informed opinion, commentary and long-form features – not provided regularly elsewhere in the Australian Motorsport media.
