‘Dream Deal’ sees Excel Champions confirm new long-term relationship with Hofbrau Original Lager

A DREAM sponsorship deal, sure to be the envy of any racing team and motorsport fan in the country, will see Check it Out Racing become the Hofbrau Original Racing Team and be powered by Beer and Schnitzels for at least the next two years.

The team, the 2019 national champions in the ultra-competitive Hyundai Excel category, is pleased to announce a new title sponsor relationship with Hofbrau – one of Germany’s most internationally recognised Beer brands.

The championship-winning Excel Cup Car will sport a stunning new livery showcasing Hofbrau’s iconic blue, white and gold colour scheme.

Meanwhile, an extension of their long-term relationship with Adelaide-based restaurant, Schnithouse, completes the all-new package.

Through local importers Empire Liquor, Hofbrau joins the team as naming-rights partner for at least the next two years.

‘The Original Brew of Bavarian Kings since 1589’, Hofbrau has a more than 400-year history of brewing quality German beer in Munich, Germany.

Empire Liquor has been importing the brand to supply the South Australian and Northern Territory market since 2002, with recent expansion into Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory.

Schnithouse, located in the inner West suburb of Hilton, is an exciting restaurant / Beer House concept offering relaxed, casual dining with full bar facilities and one of the largest range of schnitzels in Adelaide.

One of Australia’s highest-profile Excel racing teams, Hofbrau Original Racing’s new partners will not only assist the team in defending their South Australian state championship and Ryan Pannowitch Memorial Trophy titles, but also extend themselves to new circuits and events interstate.

“It brings us great joy to be able to share these wonderful beers across Australia and teaming up with Check It Out Racing allows us a great avenue to continue growing the Hofbrau brand,” said Brenton Quirini, owner of Empire Liquor.

“The Original Brew of Bavarian Kings” has a 400+ years history of brewing quality German beer. Our ethos for all imported beer brands is that they must be totally sourced from the country of origin.”

‘We’re excited to continue our support, at an increased level for the Hofbrau Original Racing Team in 2021 and beyond,” added Schnithouse’s Frank Iannone.

“Having a great brand like Hofbrau associated with both the Restaurants and the racing team is the perfect fit for us.”

Driver / Team Owner Asher Johnston said the addition of two key partners would elevate the team moving forward.

“Who doesn’t love Beer, Schnitzels and race cars! Having Hofbrau join us for the next two years is really exciting for us as a team and will allow us to take our racing program to a whole new level.

“We’re really keen to work with Hofbrau and continue our long term relationship with Frank and the Schnithouse team, to promote their brands via motorsport here in South Australia and around the country.”

Hofbrau Original Racing Team manager, double Australian Drivers’ Champion and Supercars race winner Simon Wills, said the sponsorship benefited the category as a whole.

“We pride ourselves on the professionalism of our team and now adding an internationally recognised brand in Hofbrau as our naming rights sponsor is not only a huge gain for us, but the Excel category as a whole.

“We go to great efforts to be at the forefront of the class and this partnership will help cement us as leading force in Excels.”

Hofbrau Original Racing’s next event will be the second round of the South Australian State Championships at The Bend Motorsport Park, on May 15-16.

The team has been proudly supported by The Race Torque since 2005.
