Action Aplenty as Vic State Blasts Off
The boys and girls came out to play at Sandown over the weekend, with around 280 entries fronting for the opening round of the 2022 Victorian State Race Series.
Topped by the first round of the Australian Formula Ford Series, the usual array of state championship classes were present with staunch entry lists.
However, like the season-opening Race Tasmania event, some of the key classes were impacted by various incidents and accidents, which saw the yellow and sometimes red flags waved on multiple occasions.
Two of the more prominent fields also had all three races impacted, with Formula Fords and Hyundai Excels significantly impacted.
Saying that, when those two categories were up and racing, the action turned on was red hot.
Across the board, there was plenty of spirited racing, which was held in perfect conditions.
Round two for the year is scheduled for Winton Motor Raceway from March 26 to 27.
