The last Brabham grand prix car, the 1992 Brabham BT60B Judd, will make its first appearance in Adelaide at the 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival. 

The BT60B was driven by Eric van de Poele, Giovanna Amati (the most recent female driver to have entered a grand prix) and future world champion Damon Hill over the course of the 1992 Formula 1 season. 

Brabham folded following the 1992 Hungarian Grand Prix, meaning the team and the BT60B never made it to the season-ending Australian Grand Prix in Adelaide.

The BT60B’s appearance at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival will, therefore, be a fitting first appearance for the car in Adelaide, more than 30 years after what should’ve been its final grand prix start. 

The 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival celebrates the history of the Brabham team founded by Australian legend Sir Jack Brabham; commemorating the team’s 30-year history in Formula 1 30 years since its closure and on the 40th anniversary of its last Formula 1 drivers’ championship win (Nelson Piquet in 1983).

The last Brabham grand prix car to score a podium in Formula 1, the 1989 Brabham BT58 Judd, as driven by Martin Brundle and Stefano Modena during the 1989 Formula 1 season, will also be at the 2023 Adelaide Motorsport Festival with two BT58s on track. 

More Formula 1 cars, sportscars, rally cars, touring cars and others attending the event will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Held on the Victoria Park section of the Adelaide Street Circuit, the action at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival is fast, furious and frequently changing, with a different category of vehicles on track every 10 to 15 minutes, including more open-wheelers headlined by classic Formula 1 cars, V8 Supercars alongside Heritage Touring Cars, a special Invitational category alongside Demonstration sessions and more.
