Stunning new livery, sponsor for TRT-supported Excel

A STUNNING new livery, a new major brand supporting and new plans highlight Check it Out Racing’s 2023 racing season.

Led by former national Excel champion Asher Johnston, the team has launched their 2023 campaign with a stunning new livery featuring the support of ‘Hobgoblin Ruby Ale’, an ale crafted by Wychwood Brewing in the United Kingdom and now distributed in Australia by long-time CIOR supporters, Empire Liquor.

Adelaide restaurant Schnithouse, Graphic Art Mart, Hoolagators All-American diecast, Excel Racing Australia, S&J Automotive, CARMA, Pro Fab Weld and The Race Torque also return as sponsors in 2023.

The car was wrapped in a custom Excel wrap designed and installed at Check it out Graphics, in Adelaide.

The ongoing partnership with Empire Liquor enters its third year and commences this weekend at the opening round of the South Australian State Circuit Racing Championships at Mallala Motorsport Park.

Johnston’s 2023 campaign will take in major national Excel events this season, including a return to Mount Panorama at the Hi-Tec Bathurst 6 Hour, and the Circuit Excel Nationals in Perth, among other key events.

“Empire Liquor is excited to confirm the continuing successful partnership with Asher Johnson and sponsorship of the car to beat in Circuit Excel in 2023,” said Empire Liquor’s Brenton Quirini.

“After two years of great success wearing the striking Hofbrau Original livery, 2023 will see a significant and exciting change to the presentation of current State Champion Car 1.

“One of Empire Liquor’s newest brands – ‘Hobgoblin Ruby Ale’ brewed in the UK, will be turning a lot of heads with an eye-catching striking design by Asher and the Check It Out Graphics Team. Hobgoblin Ale – “Nice Beer – Shame about the Face!”

Johnston said he was full of optimism for the 2023 racing season, which presented new challenges and opportunities – and the stunning new look.

“We’re very proud to continue our relationship with Brenton and his team at Empire Liquor and field the colours of their newest brand, Hobgoblin Ruby Ale.

“The beer is as good as we think the car looks in its new colours for this year!

“We are launching our season at Mallala this weekend, but rather than focussing on South Australia our plans are to go broader and race at some of the best events and tracks we can throughout the year, which includes Bathurst and another crack at the Excel Nationals.

“It’s given the whole team added motivation and feels like we’re starting fresh this year.”
