Two-pronged ARC attack

CoolDrive Auto Parts will continue its wide-ranging support of the motorsport ladder in 2023, with confirmation that the brand will once again be supporting young guns Josh Anderson and Reece Chapman in the Aussie Racing Cars.

After respectively finishing first and third overall last season, the second-generation duo will be looking to continue the success that CoolDrive has experienced in the series since its first start in 2019.

The Aussie Racing Car class is one of the most exciting in Australian motorsport, with the 1,300cc Yamaha motorcycle engine-powered pocket rockets providing incredible entertainment, with capacity fields a regular feature of the category.

For Anderson, who also represents CoolDrive in the Supercars Pro Eseries, the opportunity to defend his title is an exciting one.

“I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the CoolDrive Auto Parts Aussie Racing Car this weekend at Newcastle, especially with the number one on the door,” said Anderson.

“I have one goal this season, to win the series again, and that starts this weekend.

“There’s great representation from CoolDrive this year across both Supercars and Super2, and it’s an honour to represent the brand in Aussie Racing Cars.

“CoolDrive is an iconic Australian automotive brand with a strong motorsports history, so claiming a national title for them in Aussie Racing Cars last year was a dream come true.”

Meanwhile, for Chapman, he will be looking to finish two positions better than his 2022 championship result.

“I’m super pumped to be back racing in the Aussie Racing Cars Championship for the 2023 season,” said Chapman.

“After finishing third in the championship last year I’m excited to compete for more race wins and take out the championship with the support of our long-time partner, CoolDrive Auto Parts.

“Working with CoolDrive is an absolute pleasure, and the support from their team is incredibly valuable, which shows in the results both on and off track.”

The Aussie Racing Car season kicks off this weekend with a fully subscribed 40-car entry on the streets of Newcastle, with four races on the undercard to the Supercars Newcastle 500 event.

The second round of the series is set for Queensland Raceway alongside the Australian Superbikes, before re-joining with the Supercars in Tasmania, Darwin and Townsville, with the season rounded out at New Zealand’s Highlands Motorsport Park in November.

This weekend also sees the Blanchard Racing Team’s new recruit Todd Hazelwood take to the track with the outfit’s fresh Gen3 Ford Mustang, while Aaron Love will sport the colours of PETRONAS in his Super2 debut for the squad.
