The VHRR is proud to announce that the founder of Elfin Racing Cars, Garrie Cooper, will be posthumously inducted into the prestigious Motorsport Australia Hall of Fame for his remarkable contributions to motorsport engineering and innovation.
Garrie Cooper, a visionary Australian engineer and entrepreneur, founded Elfin Sports Cars in 1957. His passion for motorsport and relentless pursuit of excellence led to the creation of some of the most iconic and successful racing cars in Australian motorsport history.
Under his leadership, Elfin Racing Cars became synonymous with innovation, performance, and success on the track.
Throughout his illustrious career, Cooper engineered, produced and drove an impressive array of successful racing cars, including Formula Junior, Formula Vee, Formula Ford, Formula 2, Formula 5000, and sports racing cars.
His meticulous attention to detail and innovative designs propelled Elfin Racing Cars to numerous championships and victories across various racing categories.

Elfin Racing Cars are today well represented within the spectacular M&O Sports and Racing category, many of which will be displayed at the Australian Grand Prix, including two of Garrie’s personal cars.
These cars will run in high-speed demonstrations over the weekend and remain on display throughout the Australian Grand Prix on 21-24 March 2024.
