Rick Kelly’s Latest Project Unveiled
Trentham Waters Resort is poised to elevate the region’s tourism landscape and redefine luxury hospitality from late 2024 to early 2025.
The resort is the brainchild of renowned former V8 Supercar Champion and two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Rick Kelly and his esteemed father, John Kelly, who, with the Kelly family group, were responsible for building and growing one of the largest turnkey touring car race teams in Australian history – Kelly Racing.
“It’s certainly a shift in industries, but we’ve always enjoyed a challenge, and this would have to be one of the biggest!” said Rick Kelly.
“Our vision is to create a destination that celebrates the essence of relaxation and adventure amidst the iconic Mildura landscape.”
Nestled amidst the iconic Mallee loam landscape, Trentham Waters Resort emerges as a beacon of escape, relaxation, and sun-drenched fun, inviting travellers to experience the best of Mildura.
The all-inclusive park offers a range of accommodation options, including architecturally designed villas, luxurious river retreats with wood-fired hot tubs, glamping tents, and powered drive-through caravan sites, catering to every holiday requirement.
At the heart of the resort lies a sprawling 48-metre lagoon swimming pool and spa, enveloped by sunbeds and towering palm trees, offering guests a serene spot to savour refreshing cocktails and bask in sun-kissed bliss.
Catering to families, the resort features a kid’s pool, splash park, pump track, tennis court, mini-golf course, playground, and games room, ensuring endless hours of fun for all ages.
The jewel in the crown, however, is the majestic Murray River, meticulously integrated into the resort’s design to respect and complement its natural beauty.
Boating enthusiasts will delight in the private boat ramp and jetty, boat cleaning bays, and storage opportunities, making Trentham Waters Resort a sought-after destination for skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing adventures.
“Our commitment is to create a haven where guests can immerse themselves in the tranquillity of Mildura’s landscape while enjoying world-class amenities and hospitality,” added Kelly.
The resort also boasts an in-house restaurant overlooking the pool, serving the very best cuisine using local produce, complemented by a selection of regional wines.
In addition to the resort, Stage 2 of the project is currently underway, featuring the development of a 119-home, exclusive, gated community.
Named Trentham Waters Living, this enclave in the heart of Mildura promises unparalleled luxury and lifestyle.
“In my Supercars career, I travelled extensively, yet Mildura remains my favourite destination due to its climate, river, and surroundings,” said Kelly.
“After leaving Supercars, I wanted to give back to Mildura and share my love for the region.
“Trentham Waters Resort allows me to do just that, offering a unique experience that will attract new visitors and benefit the local community and businesses.
“Ken Ross, Tim Elstone, Daniel Linklater and the Wentworth Council Team have been fantastic in assisting us throughout the planning process and in helping to actualise the project.”
Wentworth Shire Mayor, Daniel Linklater, is eagerly awaiting the opening of Trentham Waters Resort following the lengthy planning phase of the project.
“Wentworth council and the region are excited to see the Trentham Waters Resort project come to life after working closely with the Kelly Family throughout the planning stage over the last few years,” said Cr Linklater.
“The projected increase in tourism, staffing opportunities, and increased amenities for locals are all exciting prospects for our community.”
Mildura Mayor Liam Wood said Trentham Waters Resort promised a raft of economic and tourism benefits for the entire Sunraysia region for decades to come.
“I’d like to congratulate Rick Kelly and his family for envisioning, planning and undertaking such a massive project in our region,” Cr Wood said.
“This project will provide so many benefits to both communities, whether it’s jobs during construction and once operational, or the significant visitor drawcard and economic driver the Resort will represent once completed.”
Trentham Waters Resort looks forward to welcoming guests and homeowners from late 2024/early 2025.
