The Fox Collection
There are precious few public automotive showcases that represent the quality you can find in our very own Fox Collection, featuring selections from Lindsay Fox’s incredible fleet.
Located in Docklands, adjacent to the Melbourne downtown, the Fox Collection probably features the car of your dreams.
Immediately as you walk in the front doors, you are greeted by a Lexus LFA, a pair of contemporary Ford GTs and one of 77 modern Porsche 935s, which sets the tone for what’s inside.
On the day of our visit, around 50 vehicles were on display, and it was close to impossible to pick a favourite.
After the opening room, which featured a mixed bag, the Ferrari wing was incredible.
From an F40, there is an F50, a Dino, an Enzo and more.
Upstairs, the Mercedes and Porsche areas were truly stacked.
From track-bred heroes to truly rare pieces, there aren’t any misses.
Take, for instance, the baby Mercedes-Benz A38 AMG, which is a twin-engine beast capable of 250km/h – it is one of only two still in circulation.
Then there’s a Porsche Dakar Rally car from 1981, as driven by Alan Hamilton, which was prepared by the factory for the 959 project.
There was one true pedigree race car in the mix, and it was the Peter Brock/Allan Moffat VK Commodore from 1986.
The Fox Collection is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
