Motors & Masterpieces Art & Photography Competition Now Open
Australia’s preeminent motoring festival, Motors & Masterpieces, is set to celebrate the best of the creative community, following the announcement of the inaugural Art and Photography Competition, which will take centre stage at the Melbourne Showgrounds from November 22 to 24, 2024.
The subject matter for prospective entrants is simply ‘The Classic Motoring Movement’, and it is recommended that entries attempt to fit into one of the event’s ten themes.
Come November, selected pieces will be displayed at the event in the relevant area for thousands of enthusiasts to enjoy.
Separate awards are available in the artwork and photography divisions, with the first prize for each being $4,000, while each runner-up will receive $1,000, with a panel of prominent individuals from the Australian art and cultural scene set to select the winners.
The themes for Motors & Masterpieces 2024 offer a diverse mix of cultural influences and historical periods, including La Dolce Vita, California Dreaming, Tokyo Lights, Swinging London, Great Southern Land, Golden Age, High Society, Continental Classics, Monaco Glitz, and Chequered Flag.
These subjects are designed to inspire creativity and innovation, offering a wide canvas for artistic and photographic expression.

Meanwhile, car and motorcycle concours entries are pouring in for the event, with hundreds of highly desirable vehicles set to take centre stage, grouped in line with distinct cultural settings and the evolutionary stages of man and machine.
The awards on offer include the coveted Best of Show, for vehicles built up until 1993, as well as for the various Class winners, a Preservation Award, a Young Achiever Award for owners under 30, the Spirit of Motors & Masterpieces Award, and the highly sought-after People’s Choice Award.
Entries are also open for the Monaco Glitz category, which is focused on the modern supercar, in addition to the general display sections.
Further to the curated collections, the celebration will feature an extensive assortment of club displays, with the entire event encompassing the best-in-breed examples from the automotive world.
Expressions of interest are also being registered for display exhibitors, who will be able to promote their businesses to a large and engaged audience of enthusiasts and collectors.
