Bend Porsche Unveiled

INTERNATIONAL GT racing superstars Laurin Heinrich and Morris Schuring will join the brothers Shahin in their Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 hour campaign this year.

The Bend team’s EMA Motorsport-prepared Porsche 911 GT3R was unveiled at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend carrying a stunning livery representing the park’s key branding.

The four-up combination, one of four in the race this year, will contest the Pro-Am class as Yasser Shahin seeks to go back-to-back this year.

Shahin also claimed the LM GT3 class at the Le Mans 24 Hours last year, while his brother Sam made his debut in the Porsche Supercup championship while continuing his strong local presence in one-make Porsche racing.

Their international aces add to the deep global GT roster attracted to the race this year with both young-guns with serious superstar potential.

Heinrich, 23, comes into his first 12-hour as the 2024 GTD Pro Champion in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. The German is a former Carrera Cup Champion and Supercup podium finisher.

Another true rising star in GT racing, 19-year-old Dutchman Schuring was part of the Manthey-EMA team that won LeMans last year, with Yasser Shahin as one of his copilots.

Like Heinrich, he graduated from one-make Porsche racing directly into the top flight of GT3 competition and ended up second in the World Endurance Championship GT3 category last year. This is his Bathurst debut.

The Bend entry will be one of two Porsche 911 GT3R entries contesting this years’ Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour.
