Throwback: 2019 Australian Grand Prix
The last Australian Grand Prix event before the pandemic struck, and the final to be held on the original Albert Park layout had plenty of talking points.
Firstly, the second event out of the box for the new Ford Mustang proved that it was the weapon of choice for season 2019, with Scott McLaughlin taking three wins, with Chaz Mostert picking up the pieces in race three.
The biggest moment of that third race happened on the way to the grid, with Cam Waters coming together with Scott McLaughlin, eliminating both cars before a wheel was turned in anger.
Making the podium throughout the event were Jamie Whincup, Fabian Coulthard, Cameron Waters and Tim Slade, who registered one of his two top-three results for the season.
Missing in action was Shane van Gisbergen, who had his toughest event for the season with results of DNF, tenth, 21st and 22nd.
Also in the wars was Richie Stanaway, who was disqualified and fined $10,000 for his part in a clash with Lee Holdsworth on Saturday afternoon.
