TCR Field Expands

Wall Racing will expand to a three-car Honda team for the final two rounds of the 2023 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series and the Australian legs of the Kumho TCR World Tour.

TCR’s newest race winner Brad Harris will be joined by his twin brother Will at Race Sydney and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International as the team expands to three cars for the first time.

Brad Harris will continue aboard his existing #74 entry while Will will drive the car currently raced by Tony D’Alberto, re-numbered #76.

They will be the first brothers to compete together in Supercheap Auto TCR Australia history.

Meanwhile, the team has also confirmed that their brand-new Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCR car will make its debut at the Race Sydney Kumho TCR World Tour event, with 2022 champion D’Alberto behind the wheel.

Will Harris hails from a similar racing pedigree to brother Brad, competing in Improved Production and Mazda RX8 Cup competition prior to his TCR debut.

The newest Harris to join the team has already spent time behind the wheel of a Wall Racing Honda Civic, with more testing planned prior to the Race Sydney and Supercheap Auto Bathurst International events this November.

Brad Harris recently added his name to the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia winners list when he claimed victory in Race 2 at Queensland Raceway two weeks ago.

He then finished third in the final race of the weekend to cap off his best-ever weekend since joining the category at Phillip Island earlier this year, climbing into the top-10 of the championship in the process.

Wall Racing’s Tony D’Alberto will tackle the next round of the championship at Sandown Raceway in Melbourne on September 8-10, with Brad Harris already committed elsewhere for that weekend prior to launching his TCR campaign.

The team will then expand to it’s three-car format at Race Sydney under lights this November, followed by the second Kumho TCR World Tour round at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International one week later.

David Wall – Team Owner

“We’re really excited to have Will join his brother for Sydney and Bathurst later this year,” Wall said.

“The pair have raced each other for a long time, they’re both very competitive and come from similar racing backgrounds so we’ve got no doubt that Will will get up to speed as quickly as Brad has.

“As we saw in Queensland, he’s become an outright contender in just a few rounds so it’s an exciting prospect.

“The new Honda Civic Type R FL5 will arrive after Sandown but within plenty of time for Sydney and Bathurst and the World Tour rounds this November. We’re excited to get Tony in that car and see how we go against the best in the world. It’s an exciting time for the team to be going to three cars.”

Will Harris – Honda Civic Type R

“I’ve obviously been watching Brad closely since he joined the TCR field and it’s been hard to watch from the sidelines,” Harris said.

“It’s incredibly competitive and the chance to get out there with my brother and join the field was too good to pass up.

“We’ll be in the same machinery and in a great team like Wall Racing so it’s something I think we are both looking forward to.

“Traditionally we’re both evenly matched so I’m confident that having seen how Brad has gone, we can both be on the pace in Sydney and at Bathurst later this year.

“It’s a great time to join the team and the category with the World Tour rounds bringing so much international talent. I can’t wait!”
