NASH MORRIS will join Scott Taylor Motorsport to contest the 2024 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship.

Morris will drive the #222 STM machine for the full championship, following a successful debut in one-make Porsche racing in 2023 with a partial Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge campaign.

Despite missing the first two rounds of the series, Morris finished sixth overall in the Sprint Challenge Series this year, claiming eight race victories and round wins at Queensland Raceway and at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

Morris’ rapid acclimation to one-make Porsche racing ensured he was ready to make the leap into Australia’s top one-make category in 2024.

Morris will join STM, a team with proven success in the championship.

With Alex Davison behind the wheel, the #222 Porsche claimed victory in the Townsville event this year, the team’s first outright race and round wins in Carrera Cup competition.

Ashley Seward Motorsport will continue to prepare the #222 STM Porsche at each round next year.

The 2024 Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship commences at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix in March next year.

“I really enjoyed my time driving the Porsche this year, the cars are great to drive and the competition is very high.

“Carrera Cup was at the top of my list this year and to have the opportunity to race with Scott Taylor Motorsport is incredible.

“Scott and Rebecca are fantastic people and passionate motorsport people like me and we get on superbly. It’s a privilege to be asked to drive their car next year and I’ll do the best job I possibly can to deliver some results.

“When I was unable to drive this year we put Alex in the car, he went from driver coach to driver and did a fantastic job.

“I have always said that if I ever moved away from driving, I would want to support someone on the journey through to potentially being a star of the sport, and I have been looking around the space for a young, respectful guy with a good head on his shoulders.

“The STM ‘DNA’ needs that type of person and Nash ticks all the buttons.

“He comes from a great motor racing family, but he’s forged his own path. He’s a technician himself and he understands the sport and has a lot of respect.

“This is a great way to start so five or ten years down the road I’ll be able to say I was part of the journey.

“Driving or not, I always want to go to the races, and this is going to be great for STM and Nash next year.”
