TWENTY-TWO RADICAL SR3 entries will tackle Round 2 of the First Focus Radical Cup Australia Series at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint this weekend in the West.

It’s one of the series’ strongest ever grids that includes the return of a key contender to add further spice to the pointy end of an already competitive field.

Competition is expected to be tight across the Hero Autolifts Pro-Am and Workhorse Am class battles this weekend with three races set for the tight, 2.41km circuit located to the North of Perth.

The Radical grid returns to Carco.com.au Raceway in Wanneroo for the first time since 2022, with that year’s Round Winner Elliott Schutte returning to the grid this weekend.

The Arise Racing pilot claimed the weekend on the series’ first visit to the West two years ago and returns to the championship fresh from a stunning GT World Challenge debut at Phillip Island with Arise’s sister Ferrari GT team.

Schutte is one of several strong additions to the Radical grid in Perth – another being 17-year-old rising star, Zara Horn.

A successful karting graduate and Ferrari Driver Academy candidate, Horn will pilot a Radical SR3 for Arise Racing having tackled several WA state rounds with the squad recently.

This weekend marks her second Radical Cup Australia event, having made her debut in Sydney last year driving alongside Jordan Oon in an Arise Racing entry – finishing ninth and eighth in the two races, respectively.

The added firepower doesn’t just come from the West either, with GWR Australia adding to their competitive mix this weekend as well.

Former Australian Formula 3 champion Jon Collins will race, meaning that for the first time in Radical Cup Australia competition he’ll compete head-to-head with his racing mother – Sue Hughes.

The Perth grid includes the two-driver combinations of Cade Bell and Mark Cirillo joining the field, while Ian Oon pairs with Jay Wong in their #33 entry.

First Focus GWR driver Peter Paddon leads the series after claiming victory in the opening round at Phillip Island last month.

Paddon won on a countback with he and West Aussie young gun Cooper Cutts having split the honours at the high-speed Victorian circuit, the pair tied on 76 points each heading towards Round 2.

Cutts was voted the Workhorse Performer of the Round in the season opener and will return to his home circuit in top form aboard his brand-new SR3XXR – one of four on the grid.

Ethan Brown sits third with Terry Knowles and Barton Mawer fourth and Ash Samadi fifth.

The returning Elliott Schutte and Bryce Moore claimed the victories at Wanneroo in 2022, the latter prevailing with the round victory overall having taken pole position as well.

Moore also returns this year driving alongside Chris Reindler, the pair having raced at the pointy-end of the field in Phillip Island’s recent season opener.

West Aussie Aaron Love, now a full-time Supercars pilot, holds the Radical lap record at the circuit with a 54.6375s benchmark having stood since 2019.

The First Focus Radical Cup Australia will tackle three races this weekend at carco.com.au Raceway alongside the Repco Supercars Championship.

Following two practice sessions and Qualifying on Friday, the series races first on Saturday morning for the 45-minute endurance race, starting at 10:00am local time.

That will be followed by two, 25-minute sprint races on Sunday; the first at 8:00am and the second at 10:25.

All three races will be broadcast live and ad-break free on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo Sports this weekend.
