Independent Australian Brewery, Reckless Brewing Co., located in Bathurst, has reunited this year with Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU) to release a limited-edition beer in support of the team taking on The Mountain for the 2024 Bathurst 1000.

Reckless Brewing Co. is one of Australia’s fastest growing, and most awarded young breweries, located at the doorstep of Mount Panorama. Reckless Brewing only opened its doors two years ago, but has already established itself as the go-to venue in Bathurst. The brewers have won a spate of high-profile awards, including awards for not only brewing Australia’s best beers, but the world’s best beers.

The limited edition WAU Lager is an American-style lager with light malt flavours and a subtle citrus hop finish. It has been designed to be super crisp and easy to drink, but without any preservatives or pasteurisation.

The team has gone 6 steps forward this year and released the beer in 6 different limited edition cans, representing the liveries of WAU’s historic Bathurst 1000 victories. Reckless has brewed just 240 cases of this beer, so it’s expected to be snapped up quickly.

Founder, Jarrod Moore, explains the how the WAU relationship came to life. “I was actually introduced to Bruce Stewart through Ryan Wood’s Engineer, Adam Austin. We grew up together and Adam is the reason I became a car racing tragic, and to now be working together after we took such different career paths is awesome.”

WAU Team Principal, Bruce Stewart, adds, “I love having the chance to team up with Jarrod, Alice and Grace again at Reckless Brewing, and after last year, it’s amazing to see what they have been able to put together this year, turning our past liveries into something so special.”

 “It’s a fantastic beer, the design looks awesome, and we are really proud to be working with a local company for the biggest race of the year, a business who has supported us now for 2 years. We’re pumped to see fans enjoy it on The Mountain or at home watching!”

Reckless Brewing has been involved in motorsport sponsorship since 2021, and Jarrod explains, “we never intended on becoming a car racing aligned brand, but after picking Bathurst as our home and dabbling in some sponsorship, not only was it a dream come true, but the feedback from our local community and the car racing community was amazing.”

Jarrod adds, “I expect this to be a long partnership and every year we will come up with something new and exciting for our punters as a way to introduce our style to this amazing community.”
