IRON BOATS to support JCRE Aussie Racing Car

JOHNSTON CRAILL Racing is proud to announce IRON BOATS Queensland as their major partner for this weekend’s final round of the Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Series on the Gold Coast.

Originating in Sweden, IRON Boats are renowned globally as one of the most stable and high performing Powerboats on the global market and have recently burst onto the local scene.

IRON Boats are perfect for Queensland conditions and especially the waterways that snake in and around the Gold Coast 500 street circuit – perfect for cruising or more active exploits like waterskiing, watersports or swimming.

Powered by Mercury engines and fitted with Simrad navigation equipment as standard, the machinery produced by the brand combines the seaworthiness and soft running of a standard Rib-style boat with the functionality and space of aluminum-hulled machines.

IRON Boats come in a range of sizes from six to eight metres and from 115 to up to 450 horsepower.

The brand has rapidly grown in Australia and has already been seen in motorsport circles as a partner of the Gold Coast-based TekworkX Motorsport, who field cars in Monochrome GT4 Australia, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge and Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia.

The distinctive IRON Boats branding joins JCRE’s stable of supporters for the final round of the Aussie Racing Cars season, and the fourth of the team’s campaign this year.

It comes following a solid return to racing at Phillip Island last month following a ground-up rebuild of the car after the Perth accident.

IRON Boats will be joined by Air Everywhere as new supporters this weekend.

Established in Adelaide in 2010, Air Everywhere offer end to end management of air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation services across both residential and commercial sectors throughout South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

Also joining the team this weekend, one of Australia’s leading Motorsport PR and content agencies, Network R, will offer their support to the team.

They join existing partners including Action Line Marking, Graphic Art Mart, City Rural Insurance Brokers, Check It Out Graphics, The Race Torque, Pro Fab Weld, Hooligators, Tonsley Smash and Heinrich Performance.

The team races four times this weekend at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, with all four races to be shown live on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo Sports.

Richard Craill – Nervous co-owner:

“Gold Coast has been the target for us since day one this year, even with the early setback it’s incredible to know the car will be on track and racing this weekend.

“I’ve got to know the team at IRON Boats well really over the journey and they’re as passionate about Motorsport as they are the boats themselves. We’re privileged to have their brand on the side of the car and showcase their brand – a local business – to all the Queenslanders and those from further afield at the event this weekend.

“The level of support for our little team is incredibly flattering and as we develop and get up to speed we hope to repay that in results.

“This weekend is a big step for our little team and a bucket list thing for Asher to drive, so now we have the car sorted we’re going to have a crack and see where we land.”

Asher Johnston – Driver:

“Racing at Surfers Paradise has been a dream of mine since watching Nigel Mansell in the Newman-Haas IndyCar charge around there on TV as a kid. To go there in our own car is pretty surreal.

“It’s a huge challenge to have my first laps there in the middle of a 41-car field and with everything else going on, but to know a brand like IRON Boats is keen to support what we’re doing is a huge confidence boost for us.

“Kym and the team at Air Everywhere have been supporters of mine for a long time and were keen to help us live this dream as well so there’s a lot of feel-good support on board.

“Hopefully we can continue our progression forward. We felt like we made genuine steps at Phillip Island so we want to continue that this weekend.”
