Top 10: Supercars ’24 HOTs & NOTs
Before we blast into season 2025, here’s a look back at the top-ten Supercars HOTs and NOTs, as ranked by The Race Torque’s community throughout season 2024.
All told, 22 drivers, nine items involving competition items, eight teams, five events, four support classes, four event sideshows, three sponsors, and two support class drivers were all acknowledged in the top ten HOTS from the 12 events during the season.
Interestingly, all told, there were 57 HOTs and 55 NOTs received nominations throughout the year.
As per previous years, the unscientific approach to this Power Rankings summation is that number one nominations were awarded ten points, down to one point for a tenth-place nomination.

ABOUT THE RANKINGS: The TRT Power Rankings are compiled by your nominations from social media and edited by the TRT editorial team. They’re designed to give a balanced, as fair as possible critical overview of those things that excelled and those things that struggled, at each event. It’s (mostly) a democracy, and what you nominate generates the order, so have your say next event via our social media channels, @theracetorque on Facebook, Twitter and Insta. HOTS
1. Will Brown
Phew, the Power Rankings align with reality! The only HOT item to score points at every single event, topping the pops at the Bathurst 500, AGP, and Sandown, and in the top three at five other events. The lowlight for Brown was a ninth from the Townsville event – one where he still registered a podium race finish. Consistency overload when others failed to string two race meetings together – Brown was an easy ranking (and real-life points) victor in the final wash up.
2. Broc Feeney
Topped three events during the season, including a statement performance in Darwin, while second at Bathurst was also significant.
3. Chaz Mostert
A staunch mid-season run by the Walkinshaw Andretti United equipe saw Chaz in the thick of the action and an outside chance at the championship. Topped the scoring at Sydney Motorsport Park and was second from the Bathurst 500 and Perth.
4. Cam Waters
A bit red hot or nowhere. He took home the chicken dinners from Perth and Symmons Plains, was second in Townsville and the Gold Coast.
5. The Racing
The only ‘competition’ aspect to finish the top ten after a season of Power Rankings – high-quality racing featured prominently as a nomination in Tasmania, Townsville, Adelaide and the Australian Grand Prix.
6. Matthew Payne
Sydney Motorsport Park proved to be a big weekend for the Kiwi hotshoe, with his mega three-wide pass at turn one earning him two nominations from that event. Also scored well in Townsville.
7. Thomas Randle
A consistent player throughout the season – Tom scored nominations at six events during the year. Also: being hugely multi-talented is an advantage in life…
8. Red Bull Ampol Racing
The only team to lock in a top-ten result for the year – a big start to the year at Bathurst, Albert Park and Taupo were all-important.
9. Nick Percat
Huge points hauls corresponded with his wins at the AGP and Tasmania, with the Bathurst 500 also resulting in a high-ranking nomination.
10. Brodie Kostecki
After a late start to the season, the reigning champ scored a sixth-place nomination in Darwin, then topped the Bathurst 1000 podium and was number three on the GC.
NOTS
1. Crashes
Easily the number one NOT for 2024 was carnage, which picked up points everywhere bar Perth and the Bathurst 1000. Adelaide was the most NOT-worthy, from Townsville, Sandown, SMP and the AGP.
2. Format/Practice/Scheduling
It absolutely grabbed our goat throughout the year. We teed off the hardest in Tasmania, Perth, Darwin and SMP, where it topped the NOT nominations.
3. Going Full Super2
Super2 went Full Super2 the most in Perth, then the Bathurst 500, Adelaide and Townsville. Four out of six ain’t bad, or it definitely is bad, in this case.
4. Dick Johnson Racing
The motorsport world expected more from the Blue Oval’s most storied team. Bathurst was a lowlight, but a string of misfortunes throughout the year accumulated the team multiple nominations. A complete off-season shuffling of the deck should hopefully see the ten-time driver’s championship winners land more on the HOT side of the ledger in 2025.
5. Chaz Mostert
A couple of tough weekends in Taupo and on the Gold Coast were particularly difficult for the fan favourite.
6. Brad Jones Racing
Battled across their four cars at various stages throughout the season, with a lowlight being the AGP.
7. Brodie Kostecki
Some tough runs to kick off his return to competition before a red-HOT flourish saw him fly home.
8. Mechanical Failures
Dramas bobbed up in Townsville and Darwin, which were a particular downer.
9. Erebus Motorsport
When you are at the top, expectations are high – the reigning team’s champs had a particularly tough time of it in Perth and on the Gold Coast.
10. Broc Feeney
Once again, when you are at the peak of the game, when minor things go wrong, it is particularly noticeable. Broc lost points in Taupo, SMP and Adelaide.
