Not since October 1992 had the Nissan GT-R been an outright threat at Bathurst, but come the 2014 edition of the Bathurst 12 Hour, Nismo was back with a vengeance.

Piloted by British Nissan factory ace Alex Buncombe, Japanese cult hero Katsumasa Chiyo, multiple Bathurst 1000 champ Rick Kelly, and gamer-come-racer Wolfgang Reip, the roaring twin turbo V6 was an outright threat in the early running.

Unfortunately it all came unglued after 58 circuits, when the car heavily clouted the stranded Clearwater Racing Ferrari at McPhillamy Park.

Chiyo-san would redeem himself 12 months later to claim the top step of the podium in a thriller.
