Looking back – the Australian Grand Prix was a big one to be working in the media. Here, the author recounts his weekend at the races, writing stories and capturing the action in what was, at times, a challenging yet rewarding five days... The Plan As always before a big meet, I like to plan things out minute-by-minute; having things mapped out means that I don’t have to think on the fly, I don’t miss out on anything, and I don’t double up on photo angles (too much). The plan before the weekend started is above, although it evolved a

Two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison has set the fastest time in the final Friday session of the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour. On combined times across both practice sessions today, Davison edged practice one pacesetter David Russell by 0.0069s and Randle - second in FP2 - by 0.08. It is genuinely one of our favourite places, and right now, it is even better, with the National Motor Racing Museum currently playing host to the Chrysler in Australian Motorsport special exhibition. You can judge for yourself from the below pics, but some of the absolute highlights include Clem Smith's legendary sports sedan, the White family's beastly Targa Viper, and a selection of sensational Valiants - there is plenty there to drool over. The beauty of the NMRM is that the showcase is constantly switching and changing, with new display pieces constantly being rotated through. To get an idea of

HERE’S the thing about the Bathurst 6 Hour. If the 12-Hour is the International Bathurst and the 1000 is the Big Bathurst, the 6-Hour is the lovable Bathurst. I’d argue no major event in Australia has a paddock so amiable, so chilled and so content and excited to be there as the one assembled this weekend in the Mount Panorama garages. Yes there’s still a race to be won and yes on Sunday afternoon this race will display all of the same seriousness, intent and theatrics as the ones February or October delivers. And yet now, as teams set
