The crazy race held on a freeway interchange
THIS weekend sees the 25th anniversary of the best car race we never knew about - the Aurum 1006km Enduro in the middle of absolutely nowhere, Lithuania. As such, we felt it appropriate to revisit our story, first published on July 20, 2022, that tells the story of how those crazy Eastern Europeans created a street track out of a freeway interchange.. IT’S LATE. You’re on the motorway, coming home from work, the airport, a date, whatever. There’s little traffic and the road around you is clear as you head towards your exit. Ahh yes – your exit. Not just

THE COMPETITIVE debut of Porsche's 992 GT3 Cup Car at the fast and flowing Sydney Motorsport Park will highlight round 4 of Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia this weekend. While the 3.9km circuit served as the launching point for the latest-generation car in 2022, and is the testing circuit for several teams, it's yet to see a competitive lap turned in anger for the latest and greatest one-make racer from Germany. This weekend will rectify that scenario with three championship races the first in Sydney's West since the 2018 season and plenty on the line as the championship charges

From Fords to Ferraris and MGs to Mustangs, the Historic Leyburn Sprints will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Australian Grand Prix with a record entry of 243 historic, classic and performance cars on August 17-18. The biggest field in the Sprint's 28-year history will represent ten decades of motoring and include many types of vehicles, from vintage home-built racers to grand prix and Indianapolis 500 contenders. The weekend’s highlight will be celebrations for the 75th anniversary of Leyburn’s hosting of the grand prix on 18 September 1949, commemorated by the Sprints founding in 1996. At least four original 1949

Previously on these pages, we ran a story on Queensland’s 1949 Australian Grand Prix – a meeting where any airfield would do. For that event, an exhaustive search landed on the rural Leyburn triangle of surplus World War II runways, which could easily be converted into a race track. As it transpires, 12 months earlier, Victoria was faced with a near-identical quandary. The spiritual home of the AGP on Phillip Island was no longer suitable, while options on the Mornington Peninsula were pie-in-the-sky stuff. Additionally, the old triangular street circuit in Benalla was also ruled out. However, a little

SUPERCHEAP Auto's Best Performing Oils campaign is one of the best and most innovative motorsport-themed commercials of the year, so we wanted to find out more. We speak one-on-one with the brains behind the advert to unpick how they shot it, some of the celebrity challenges, and also just how our own Tony Schibeci became the genuine, number one headline star of the entire show. Then it's the Hots and Nots of the week, and boy, oh boy, there were many... Spotify: Click HereApple: Click HereDeezer: Click Here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L8hnjPsgUow
