OSCAR TARGETT has extended his lead atop the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia standings after claiming Round 3 of the series at the NTI Townsville 500 in North Queensland. He sealed the deal with victory in the Jim Richards Endurance Trophy race and a fighting second in the final sprint to claim the weekend overall. The Grove Racing junior took the weekend overall ahead of Brock Gilchrist and Hamish Fitzsimmons - who claimed his second race victory of the year in the sprint race finale' that ended the weekend. OSCAR TARGETT has extended his lead in the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia Series, racing his way to the front in the first race at the NTI Townsville 500. Starting third on the grid but with an open pole position in front of him on account of Hamish Fitzsimmons starting from pit lane, Targett settled into second early in the first 25-minute sprint race of the weekend before pouncing on Clay Osborne to take the race lead and ultimately take the win. FAST New Zealander Brock Gilchrist has charged to the top of the times following a competitive and clean day of practice for Round 3 of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Australia Series at the NTI Townsville 500 in Queensland.
