The 47th Historic Winton blasts into Benalla this weekend, and with it, a return to classic 2+4 competition on the rural venue’s short circuit. Once again, the Austin 7 Club, with assistance from the Historic Motorcycle Racing Association of Victoria, is promoting the meet, which features nonstop on-track action and the usual array of sideshows and displays. It's an attraction often overlooked by visitors to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, but the facility's motorsport museum is worth checking out. Clearly skewed toward motorcycle racing, which is entirely understandable given the venue's MotoGP and WSBK feature events, the museum delves into the rich history of the development of the motorsport on the Island dating back to the 1920s.
